Livermore Student Wins Essay Contest and Bicycle

LIVERMORE, CALIF. Date: July 19, 2006 Livermore, CALIF. – The beginning of June, marked Livermore, Cattlemens 3rd annual essay contest” Writing Round Up” which encourages kids who dine at Cattlemens to write an essay describing why the restaurant is “ The Best In The West”. The winner of the local contest receives a bicycle and an entry into the corporate contest to compete with other essay winners from all of the Cattlemens chain wide. The winner at the corporate level receives 4 tickets to Six Flags Marine World, their name and quote from their essay printed on the children’s collectors cup and a free meal every time they come in to dine at Cattlemens. This year the local, and corporate winner of the “Writing Round Up” was Livermore’s own Cameron Pedro, age 11. “ I love Cattlemens! My family and I eat here all the time” Stated Pedro, when asked how he felt about being the 3rd annual winner.“ I’m so happy that I won” He continued. Pedro’s essay won out of over 50 entries turned in to Livermore Cattlemens this year. Pedro’s winning quote will be printed on the Cattlemens children’s collector cup and distributed throughout all 10 Cattlemens locations.” When my Dad tells me we are going to Cattlemens I get HECK of excited and run for my Cattlemens t-shirt.”
